BASIC NAUTICAL INFORMATION
Owners of
vessels (boats with motors of 15 HP and over, jet-skis) are
obliged to register their vessels at the Pula Harbour
Master's Office (Riva 18, tel. 22 20 37, fax 276 46).
The
registration fee that is charged upon arrival is valid for
one year. This fee depends on the length of vessel. In
addition to this, guests are also bound to pay the third
party insurance premium. This insurance can be paid before leaving for Croatia. The same applies to owners of all
watercraft including jet-skis.
All persons
maneuvering motor boats, including watercraft and jet-skis must have relevant sailing permits.
Persons wishing to engage in underwater activities should procure a
diving permit at the Harbour Master's Office or at one of
the diving clubs listed under DIVING.

case you have not made advance arrangements for your berth, contact ADRIA TOURIST SERVICE in Medulin, Brajdine 95, tel. 57 69 19 that offers private berths in Medulin
port. Summer working hours: 8 a.m. -10 p.m., winter working hours:
8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
In Medulin
there is also a marina on shore (boat places on land) VINMARIN,
tel. 57 61 75,57 61 69 (marked on the map of the
appendix), where boats and trailers may be left for
safe-keeping throughout the year.
Persons
wishing to take the exam for obtaining a boat maneuvering permit should contact the Pula Harbour
Master's Office at the abovementioned telephone number.
Note: It is
allowed to skim at the distance of 300 metres from the
beach. It is allowed to drive water-scooters along the
marked water-ways, only. In Medulin' s bay this water-way is
between the island of Ceja and the camp site Medulin and it
is marked by buoys.
To reach the water-way you have to drive
at the lowest speed. It is compulsory to have a licence or a
driving permit for water-scooters. The disregard of the
above mentioned rules is punished with a fine up to 5.000
KN. |
